Bushy bearded, non-conformist and with delicate notes of crazy, Danish brewer Thomas Bilgram is co-founder and Brew Meister Extraordinaire at Furbrew Craft Beer and the man responsible for the mash that is used to create Brewstillery’s Mashed Up Gin. For many years Thomas experimented with home brewing, handcrafting unique beers with local ingredients to the delight of those he shared them with. Self-taught, passionate and unafraid to experiment, it became clear that he possessed capabilities far beyond those of the average home brewer. In 2016 Thomas landed in Hanoi and co-founded Furbrew. He soon set to work brewing small batches of craft beer that were unconventional, unexpected and untraditional. These three words would become synonymous with the beers he brewed and the business he ran.
As part of his diversity of interests, Thomas also wanted to distill spirits and asked himself how he could make a gin from his beer mash with all the characteristics of the beer but still be able to call it a gin.
